Atmosphere is the latest iteration of a regular “gothic” themed dance event taking place in Augusta, Ga. The current venue is Le Chat Noir in downtown Augusta, an off-broad live performance theatre. The event is scheduled every-other month (odd numbered month), typically on the last Saturday of the month. The primary function of the event is of a musical/dance nature. There are events that may include a live-performance component or demonstrations of various skills and activities. The venue is an all-ages event, however, due to the possible adult nature of the music, performances and demonstrations the event is restricted to 18+. There may be events which include vendors and merchandise available for purchase. The venue includes a full service bar available for 21+ patrons. The cover is typically $5, however, talent for certain events may add a small increase from time to time. There is no official dress code but dress-up is encouraged and venue/event management reserve the right to refuse admission for any reason. Typically there will be two DJ’s. This practice allows for more musical diversity and DJ styles. Music is at the discretion of the DJ at work but typically include the following genres: EBM, sythpop, futurepop, industrial, aggrotech, new-wave, goth, electro, house and trance. <Link to previous playlists.>

The event is organized and run by a small group of friends with a common passion for giving like-minded individuals in the Augusta region a place to gather regularly. Over the past 9 years of gothic events in Augusta there have been many struggles, mostly surrounding appropriate venue availability.
